Our Story
Owner Lydia Taylor Robinson is a licensed barber/stylist and has owned Hairnook, Inc. since 1992. She started out in Munson Township before moving to Newbury. In October 2015 she bought a freestanding building in the city of Chardon that was converted into a day spa. In January 2016 the name was changed to Awaken Hair & Day Spa and opened for business in March 2016.

Lydia
Owner & Barber
As a young girl I always knew I would have a career in hair. I graduated from Lake Erie Barber College in 1992. A friend asked if I would consider buying a salon with him and going in as business partners. I never expected that I would become the sole owner just a few years later. I have enjoyed building relationships with my clients through the last 24 years and can't wait to see what the future holds.
Bethany
Cosmetologist
Bethany is a managing licensed cosmetologist. She graduated from Brown Aveda in 2007. Bethany does haircuts, color, manicures, and pedicures.
Maryann
Stylist
Maryann has been doing hair for 25 years. She graduated from International Beauty School. Trained in Deva Curl and Balayage color technique. She specializes in color and razor cutting.
Rachel Hess
Stylist
My name is Rachel Hess and I recently started working at Awaken Hair and Day Spa. I've been doing hair for eight years in Twinsburg but moved closer to Chardon to be closer to my family. I love the area and wanted to reach out with a special offer. I do all hair color and haircuts and would love to give you the look you're looking for.
Holly Englert
Nail Tech
Holly recently graduated nail technician school at Inner State Beauty and now is working as a nail tech at Awaken. She is currently attending cosmetology school as well. Her favorite part of being a nail technician is doing free hand nail art.
